I am knitting one of the pairs now and can't wait to finish them. I have been wanting it for a while, but just kept waiting for price to come down. This really is my favorite sock book. The book opens flat which is nice when you are working on a project with a chart. It is well worth the money. I have numerous sock books, but this one has socks for everyone and they are all beautiful. If you are a sock knitter, you should buy this book and the book "Sock Innovation". They are my favorites.
I got this book at the library, and had to have a copy of my own. Classic yet innovative sock designs in a spiral bound book make this a must have for your knitting library.
This book is a great addition to any sock knitters library. Some of the patterns are complicated (most are not)- but worth the added effort and the spiral binding is very convenient. I highly recommend this book.
This book is must for every Sock Knitters library. The instructions are easy to read and very helpful, the book itself is well designed and not to large to handle. In all a very good product.
This means I will have to transpose each chart into written instructions for myself. Thus, this book alone would not be a good resource for a beginning knitter.
I also subscribe to Piecework, another magazine from this press and I love it. Interweave Knits is my favorite knitting magazine.
The book does not have a section on technique so it assumes that the knitter is already familiar with knitting socks. You can't go wrong when a wonderful knitting magazine publishes the best sock patterns from the past 10 years of its publication. The sock patterns are varied and lovely.
There are many pairs in here that I can see myself knitting. Anyone who has already knit at least one or two pairs of socks will do well with this book.My only criticism of the book is that I prefer written instructions to charts and all these patterns have charts.
This is merely personal preference though, as many knitters prefer charts (or so I'm told).I highly recommend it.
